Hybrid fields are the future. We regularly have to combine disciplines to achieve true innovation. Biomechanics is no exception as we use it to improve quality of life, assist in rehabilitation, optimize sports performance, and new goals we have yet to think of. The real challenge is for engineers, doctors, physical therapists, and athletic trainers to speak the same language. Everyone in biomechanics is an expert in his own right that needs further education and assistance. How can we be creative entrepreneurs in a highly technical field with non technological medical experts?

Bassett Biomechanics was founded in 2011 by Dan Bassett, a graduate of LeTourneau University and the University of Delaware, who has been working in research and clinical biomechanics since 2001.
Dan is a certified Visual3D™ trainer, and his Visual3D Basics and Expert Builder courses have helped hundreds of students and professionals learn how to get the most out of the software.
He also teaches a practical biomechanics course that walks users through setting up a motion capture system, conducting trials, and analyzing the data based on scientific principles.
Offering our courses online allows us to keep them affordable and accessible to anyone, but Dan also provides on-site training and support.
We’ve worked with hundreds of universities, medical institutions, and sports research facilities in over 50 countries.
In 2014, Dan and a podiatrist - Alessandro Aramini - started Totum Motum to provide biomechanical services in Italy to assist medical and sports professionals that would otherwise not have access to cutting edge technology and expertise. The company has since evolved and also offers motion capture hardware while still focusing on helping develop the field of biomechanics.
